Loving kindness

As we explore the practice of Satya, or saying the truth, this week, its good to keep in mind the importance of lovingkindness...they are so closely related!!! When we allow ourselves to look for the good, we feel connected to people in a different way!

"Lovingkindness is: Recognizing that all human beings want to be part of something fulfilling or meaningful; that we're all vulnerable to change and loss; that our lives can turn on a dine-in an instant we could loose a lived one, our life savings, a job. We go up, And we go down, all of us. Vulnerability in the face of constant change is what we share, whatever our present condition. Fully understanding this, we can respond from the heart. Lovingkindness meditation allows us to use our own pain and the pain of others as a vehicle for connection rather thn isolation. Maybe when people are acting unskillfully we can look beyond their actions and recognize that they're suffering, and they, too, want to be happy."
From 'Real Happiness' by Sharon Salzberg...a great read with meditation cd included!!
