#3 of 3 steps

3)For you mates- understand that at our core we are one with those around us. Mantra repetition, meditation and yoga are all practices that help us to find that union, those similarities
A meditation I find very helpful and easy to access during my day is Lovingkindness meditation, or Metta. Take a moment to listen to this very quick video and check out her book :)
Sharon Salzberg "Real Happiness"

Some insight on the main elements of the practice:
Metta, or lovingkindness, means gentle friendship. Practicing lovingkindness gives us a sense of interconnection and allows us to reach out and touch everyone with our gentle thoughts, including ourselves. It invites us to cultivate a compassionate, non-judgmental heart...Through this practice we come to realize that others’ happiness is inseparable from our own. We rejoice in the joy of others and are not threatened by another’s success.
