<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Today I'd like to talk a bit more about being open to receive, because when we are grateful we are constantly receiving gifts from the universe. It's easy to forget to appreciate what we have, and what we are given on a daily basis. There are two types of receiving: </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">1) free receiving: what is constantly given to us, which we have the choice to see or not. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">2) intentional receiving: what we set an intention to receive and intentionally ask for support on. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I know that in my life I often forget to see what I have and I keep asking. It's important to step back and see when this is happening.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">You need to be ready to receive and see what the universe sends out your way becuause if you are not open you might miss the universe's unique message to you, and therefore feel stuck. I share this beacause I am often in thise space of inability to see, so I constantly have to remind myself, "Bibi stop before you undo all the work you have done so far by listening and staying open."</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Never shut down to life, the universe is there to support you, you have to be ready to step in and be willing to take on the responsibility to live up to it. It takes commitment, devotion and love.</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Your role is to be clear in the goals you set for yourself, keep them alive, and be open to see the constant support and guidance you are being given..</span><br />

We are therefore supported by the universe and provided with the right tools to facilitate this talent to manifest. It is our duty to be open and receptive to see the opportunities given to us to use the tools, and to train ourselves to learn to use our tools! </span><br />

Through the practice of yoga we are able to move inwards and unlock, release all that is holding us back from expressing our unique talent. </span></div>

Good morning lovely shiny beings :)<br />

This morning I woke up extremely grateful to the universe. I always do my gratefulness practice first thing in the morning, it's such a simple yet effective way to remind myself of how much I have in my life, and how much possibility and growth there is around me!<br />
<br />
It's a very simple practice you all can take on as well! All you need is a pen, a paper, and an open heart to see what is good. I have found that even in dark times, if I make the effort to look I can still find 10 things I am grateful for, and when I sit down and look for them, all the sudden my world brightens up and I see so much potential, so much light, so much love, I get exited to be alive and to be part of this breathing, evolving beautiful world!<br />
<br />
That being said, here is how you do it:<br />
1. Set aside five minutes in the morning to write down 10 things you are grateful for.<br />
2. Take pen in hand and let it flow :)<br />
If you want to get fancy with this you can:<br />
light candle, find a meditation corner in your house and choose a nice cushion to sit on when you do this.<br />
<br />
I'd like to share what I am grateful for today, because there have been so many amazing changes happening in my life, and I am so grateful, so I want to share the love :)<br />

Building a loving, joyful relationship with myself has been my quest for years. Lately I have been struggling to feel joy without depending on my partner to fulfill my need for it. After reflecting on this situation I have decided to regain full responsibility in making sure I am doing what I need to do to feel joyful.</div>

The most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself and if you don’t work on building and improving this relationship, chances are that you will not be too Joyful. Be kind and loving towards yourself and make an effort to start seeing yourself as your own best friend because the moment you do so, you will realize that there is no friendship more valuable then the friendship you have with you own self.</div>

I've noticed that being in a relationship can sometimes pull me away from really being committed and responsible of taking care of my own personal needs and joys. I noticed that I had been allowing myself to rely on 'him' and expect 'him' to give me joy. This only caused harm to my partner and I because it gives space for blame and frustration. This to me was a clear 'inner alarm' that I must reestablish my relationship to myself and my idea of joy.</div>

Committing to doing my best to make the 'perfect moment' happen right now, is crucial to maintain a state of joy. Instead of sitting around waiting for it all to 'fall into place', I am now going to actively create the opportunity to feel joy in the moment.</div>

Yesterday I took my first step towards my new outlook in life. I took a moment to check in with myself the night before and this is what I asked myself:</div>

If I owed no one any explanations, what is one thing I would do?</div>

The plan:</div>

Go to the beach, be in the sun, close to the water, in silence.</div>

So Saturday morning I went to the Rockaways, with no expectations. When I got there people surfing and there was a hut with some surf boards and wet suits. I heard a voice deep inside me say: "Bibi wouldn't it be so cool if you rented a board and surfed?"</div>

So that's exactly what I did, and how did it feel?</div>

One of my favorite topics of practice is Trishtana, or 3 tools the practice of yoga gives us to draw our attention within. The three tool are: drishti, asana, pranayama.</div>
<div>
I was spending some time with me nephew a few weekends ago, we spent the evening playing with his fort and soldiers. As e was busy 'attacking the bad and protecting the good guys' I was thinking about how I could get him to think about yoga in a fun, understandable way…this is what we came up with:</div>
<div>

Dristhi , or the gaze, is like the guards guarding the entrance of the fort, or the body.<br />
<div>
Pranayama, or the Breath, is like the soldiers that go into the fort, to unlock the gates for the treasure, or the </div>
<div>
Atman, aka the shine, waiting to be unleashed.</div>
<div>

Asana, or the shape the body is placed in, is the fort within which the treasure (shine) is hidden. </div>
<div>
The soldiers are on a mission to unleash the shine. The work they do depends upon the guards (so their focus, or concentration) and the agility of the soldiers(the even, steady, victorious ujayi breath). The stronger the structure of the fort ( body) the easier the work for the soldier to reach the treasure, because the fort won't collapse. </div>

Through yoga we cultivate a strong yet supple body. Its a constant graceful search for balance between sthira and sukha...a search for equilibrium:</div>

"The word, Sthira, means more than just firm. It translates as stable, resolute, changeless. Sthira speaks not only of challenge, strength, endurance and fortitude but also vigilance, the ability to be pay attention, to be present. It is the opposite of agitation and refers to both physical and mental stillness: a controlled, fully engaged body and a focused mind. The word Sukha translates as pleasurable, joyful, agreeable, easy, comfortable, happy, prosperous, relaxed. It is the opposite of discomfort, suffering or pain (duhkha). Here we bring in the principles non-violence and self acceptance. We nurture ourselves by doing something that feels good."</div>

I was playing with my nephew a few days ago. He loves playing with forts and soldiers…in the midst of fighting and war I was thinking of yoga, and how I could get him to be interested in it…</div>

In yoga we have three very powerful 'weapons' or tools called 'Trishtana'. These three magic weapons are: drishti, asana, pranayama.</div>

In Yoga we have a similar process. We do our asana practice, for a long time we practice, practice, practice. Day in and day out, no matter the mood we are in, the physical state we are in, we show up and do our best. This is like planting the seed. Eventually all the devotion and continuity we put in gives fruit. However we are not attached to the results (or the fruit) of the practice. When we are detached from the result we are able to enjoy the process (or the gestation period), and when the seed is ready to give fruit we will be open to receiving it. </span></div>

Where am I not making myself fully available to the person in front of me? Where do I close up to life?<br />
Where do I shrink? Where do I hide?<br />

It's about<b> giving up the lower thought for the higher thought</b>. The weaker thought for the higher thought. <b>The change on the outside will happen because of the breakthrough on the inside</b>.<br />

I encourage you to nourish your inside, take care of yourself from the inside out. Let me give you my example:<br />
A few years back I could not look at myself in the mirror. When I did, all I heard was a very negative voice in my head that loved to take me down with very harsh judgement. Took a while for me to get really fed up with this voice, and decide to do something about it. If it wasn't because of that exterior cue I would have never moved inside where the breakthrough needed to happen in order for me to like the outside. The outside, or what I saw in the mirror, hasn't necessarily changed, what changed is how I relate to it.<br />
<br />
Now I ask you to use an outside cue as a vehicle to travel inside.<br />

In yoga we have two poses devoted to the peacock, mayurasana and pincha mayurasana. When the yogi practices mayurasana his ability to digest poisonous things gets stronger. Poisonous things come from food, the environment, relationships, emotions... Sometimes no matter how clean and healthy your diet is There are situations that poison our soul and create a shield of negativity around our eyes, and we experience life through that negative shield. When we practice mayurasana we place our elbows at the sternum, we literally dig out elbows in our solar plexus, stimulating the digestive fire in our body. This digestive fire helps us to digest life as it comes and assimilate only the positive. It makes us unbeatable </div>

The solar plexus is known as , manipura chakra, in the chakra system, which is related to the liver and to fire. The solar plexus and the liver hold a lot of strong emotions such as: anger, jealousy, laziness, will to live... It is our driving force, the energy that pushes us forward. This fiery energy that resides in manipura when in balance, is what helps us to digest these strong emotions that can swipe us off our feet if not attended to properly. </div>

On rainy days like this I notice my inspiration falter. It's easy to feel inspired and energized when the sun is out, but when the clouds come out, the will power to be inspired and inspire others can sometimes fade away. </div>

To inspire also means to inhale. Inhaling is an action we can all relate to, and have access to. Inhaling is part of our every day life. Some of us breathe more, some breathe less, some have a deep breath, some have a shallow breath, some breathe at a fast paste, some breathe at a slower paste...We all have our personal way of breathing, what's important is that we do breath. Pranayama is a big part of the practice of yoga. I have learned to breathe thanks to it, and now recognize its importance in relation to how inspired I feel on any given day.</div>

Getting oxygen is easy when you remember to breathe. So here is my proposal to you: when you feel uninspired, take a moment to stop and BREATHE! I have found that when I take a few minutes in the morning to bring my awareness to my breath, and take at least 10 deep breaths, my day changes color. Sometimes I have to keep reminding myself, sometimes it just takes that initial 'breathfast' oxigen input to invite some inspiration into my day.</div>

How you start your day is how you
live your day. Could be morning pages, gratitude journal, a little meditation or yoga -
anything that gives you a touch of inspiration....Just add your 10 deep breaths as you do this activity. I invite you to make room in your day to stop and take 10 deep
breaths. You choose when and where to take them. If you like to take it a
step further then follow this basic guideline:</div>

This past month has been a journey into tuning in with my intuition and there are a few things I would like to share with you.<br />
Intuition is a very delicate place within us. The first thing I did was to identify where my intuitive voice was coming from and when it spoke to me. Tuning in and listening I found out that the voice came from right behind my belly, and it has a churning feeling when it speaks to me. My tendency for many years was to do the opposite that little sweet voice is tells me to do when it spoke to me…I would just chicken out!<br />
<br />
A few months ago, inspired by my mentor, I decided I would use my courage and each time I heard my intuition speak, I would take pen in hand and see what it was saying to me.<br />
Most of the times the struggle happens when doing things that take me out of my comfort zone. My intuition gets real exited about new things and leads me towards them, but then my sabotage mechanism kicks in and says "oh Bibi you really should't, what if…"<br />
I found that writing down the conversation that goes on in my mind really helps me to clear out the clutter and identify what it is I really want to do. And once it's clear, it's hard for me to step back. I see the benefit, I see the next step happening, I put myself in the situation and I know I must do it.<br />
<br />
A lot of good has come from listening: my dearest friendships, the activities I most love doing, my teachers, my tastes and how much I enjoy a meal all depend on how much I am able to tune in and listen to my intution. Despite the fact that for many years I did not trust it, and actually used to think it was trying to sabotage me in some way, I have discovered that when I am not brave enough to listen to it, things get ugly and I waste my time.<br />
<br />
I am now proud to say I know that when I have to make a decision and my stomach churns, I must sit down and write what my fears are around following through with and allowing for this to happen. I accept that my intuition knows best, because my intention is pure, I trust that its in my best interest to listen rather then let my head run me around. I invite clarity and guidance, I LET GO!<br />

I have not yet mastered the art of following my intuition; but by following some of these simple steps, I come closer and closer eat day to being the best version of myself. I feel happy and fulfilled when I am able to trust my intution. My tools that keep my intention clear: yoga, meditation and healthy eating, are my number one guidance. I make sure I stay true to them. I am ready to be brave, and I know that I can always start over.<br />

Find some time to sit with yourself and find out what are some activities that you can do to proof to yourself that you are trustworthy, that you can and know how to take good care of yourself. Then look a little closer and see if you can identify when your intuition speaks to you, and take a stance.<br />

Choose to be brave and follow your intuition…what is it you really really want to do? What will it take for you to do it?<br />
I find journaling about it, creates a safe space for me to express how I feel, therefore softening fear or lack of clarity…it makes it a little more accessible.<br />
I look forward to hearing about the exiting things that will come out of this exercise. You are supported by me, by you, and by all that love you, including the universe! When you are true to yourself...really true to your deepest self, your intuition, only good things can happen!<br />
